This event will discuss topics relating to end of life and encourage conversations about community, spirituality and the significance of dying at home.
Dr Sinead Donnelly is a consultant in Palliative Care Medicine working in the Mid West of Ireland since 2000 and is currently working in New Zealand. Dr Donnelly has produced 3 documentaries on the theme of ‘caring for people’, which have been shown on national television in Ireland. Her latest documentary is a production where families describe their courage in caring intimately for someone dying at home. Spend Friday evening in a relaxed atmosphere watching Dr Donnelly’s latest documentary over wine and cheese, followed by an informal question and answer time.
Dr Frank Brennan, consultant in Palliative Medicine, based at Calvary Hospital, Sydney. Dr Brennan is also a lawyer. He has interests in education and the interface of Palliative Medicine and the Law, literature and humanities. Dr Brennan believes in the power of story telling as a way of communication and education. In 2003 he worked in Ireland at St Luke’s Hospital, Dublin and Milford Care Centre Limerick.
